Introducing Good Style Design!

This week I would like to take some time to introduce my new website, Good Style Design! I believe that everyone deserves to have a well-designed home, and thanks to Good Style Design, that's possible.

A home is a place that should be comfortable, functional, and reflect your personality. Hiring an interior designer is not always the most economical choice, but that shouldn't be the only way to create a stylish home. That's where the idea of Good Style Design came into play. This site allows users to browse inspiration boards that can be turned into real spaces. Each one of Good Style Design's "inspiration boards" contain the information needed to create a space that includes furniture, lighting, and rugs. All of the items featured are easily available through retail websites and stores, and can be purchased without the assistance of an interior designer. Find products from popular home stores such as Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, PB Teen, IKEA, Design Within Reach, Room & Board, The Company Store, Burke Decor, and more! Simply browse through the inspiration boards (organized by room type), select the design that suits you, and purchase the items on the "Get the Look" list. If you run into an item that is out of stock or no longer available, just contact Good Style Design and we will be more then happy to help you find another item that will work just as well in your space.

If you'd like additional, one-on-one assistance throughout the design process, simply visit the contact page on the Good Style Design website. Through reasonable, customized design fees, further interior design assistance can be provided in the form of in-person meetings (dependant on location), home concept development, floor plans, elevations, additional product research and selection, final installation, and more.

Below are a few examples of the inspiration boards that you'll find on the site. Feedback and comments about the site are more than welcome. Check it out here: www.goodstyledesign.com. Enjoy!

Delightful Daybeds

Daybeds are the perfect combination between comfortable seating and ideal nap-time location. After situating your daybed in a nap-worthy spot like in a relaxing sun room or on a porch, it's time to give it some personality. Load up your daybed with throw pillows to fill in some of the depth, making it easier to comfortably sit on. With some slight pillow rearrangement, a daybed can instantly become your go-to spot for a little shut-eye. Now if I could only find time for a nap...

Stylish Home Offices

I don't know about you, but working from home would certainly be a dream come true for me. Wouldn't it be nice if your commute to work consisted of a few steps (literally)? If you're one of the lucky ones who is able to work from home, then these home office design tips will be sure to catch your eye.

First and foremost, it's important to create a space that is solely dedicated to work. Whether you are able to designate an entire room, or a portion of a room (have an extra closet?), figure out a place that will allow you to step away from everything else at home and focus on your business. Once you've determined where your "office" will be located, it's time to get creative with layout, organization, and decor. Start with a color scheme and stick to it. This will visually separate your office space from everything else. Stay organized with labeled bins, boxes, drawers, and file cabinets (check out Design Sponge's DIY wallpapered file cabinet). Most importantly, make your home office a place where you feel comfortable and enjoy spending time in.

Northeast Beach Wedding

I would say that the perfect time for a beach wedding in the Northeast is a Saturday at the end of September. I'm picturing a secluded beach on Cape Cod, Rhode Island, or the coast of Maine. You can almost count on the fact that the weather won't be too hot or too cold; most likely it'll be just right. An evening ceremony on the beach would be accompanied by a colorful sunset and a cool breeze... sounds pretty ideal if you ask me. If you're imagining this type of wedding, then you'll probably be inspired by the beach-themed wedding ideas below. Keep your decor mostly white with touches of beachy blues, greens, and accents of wood.
