Colorful Ceilings

Looking to give your home new life without starting from scratch? Give your ceilings a little love. Most of us live with plain white or off-white ceilings, which is fine, but definitely a bit boring. Wouldn't it be nice to wake up in bed each morning greeted by a beautiful, non-white ceiling? Now, I'm not saying you have to go crazy and paint a mural on your ceiling (although you certainly could if you want to), but a little color never hurt anybody. It's time to stop ignoring our ceilings and think of them as another wall in our homes to be painted something other then plain white.

Go for a dramatic look with a painted black ceiling, and crisp white trim -- perfect for a dining room or small space. Or keep things a bit more tranquil with a calm color, such as light blue, pink or gray. If you're feeling extra adventurous, try creating a pattern on your ceiling such as a thick stripe or herringbone. This look is great for a hallway or playroom.

No matter what color you choose, I would suggest keeping all trim a bright, clean white. This will act as a clear division between your wall and ceiling colors.

  1. They’re all stunning but I find those two bedrooms with pink theme loveliest among them. Even though I’m a guy, I actually like the color pink; it goes well with dark and light colors.

  2. I agree! I also love the room with the light blue ceiling. It's a nice calm color for a bedroom.

  3. It’s very nice to have colorful ceilings and have those pretty chandeliers. I guess what’s important here is the fact that you have a well functioning roof so that it can’t damage the ceiling. If there’ll be leaks coming from the roof, the ceiling will be damaged eventually and the design might be spoiled. I’m looking forward to have a ceiling like the one in the third and second photo. Oh how I love the shade of blue! :)

  4. “Give your ceilings a little love.” – Fantastic! I know some people just disregard the color of their ceiling but I know that it helps a lot in making their interior look fabulous. Although, we still have to remember that a good looking ceiling needs a roof at its best. When the roof is damaged, it’s possible that the ceiling will be affected also, especially when water is already dripping from the roof. By the way, I love the pink ceiling too. :)
